The three-day program will begin each day with one keynote presentation, followed by two plenary presentations from experts in various fields. After these general session presentations, there will be three concurrent meetings for questions and discussions in a networking room for live interactions to provide the opportunity for interaction.

Three concurrent sessions will be featured throughout the remainder of each day with over 100 speakers sharing their research and management expertise on all six high elevation pine species in subjects as varied as genetics, tree culturing, wildlife interactions, and disturbance ecology. Each 1½- to 2-hour session finishes with the session speakers addressing questions and engaging in a live panel discussion for 30 minutes.

Wednesday’s afternoon session will be a virtual field trip to Smith Creek Research Site in the Bitterroot Valley near Missoula Montana returning to the site visited at the 1998 WPEF Science and Management Workshop. The combinations of growth, disease, and wildland fire provide instructive contrasts for whitebark pine restoration strategies now and into the future.

We will further enrich the program with the virtual poster session. Attendees can visit the virtual exhibit hall and explore the poster content at any time. Tuesday evening’s Posters, Pines, and Wine will provide dedicated time to interact with the poster authors.
