Proceedings
The H5II Conference Proceedings will be published by Humboldt State University Press. Both poster and oral presenters are encouraged to submit a manuscript to be included in the proceedings. All papers will be subject to review and approval by proceedings editors. Revisions may be submitted through the deadline of November 30, 2021.
To reach a wide audience, the proceedings will be search index enabled and the document will be downloadable free to the public. Hard copies will be made available for purchase.
Type of Manuscript
Manuscripts can be submitted as an abstract, extended abstract, or full paper. A manuscript specific to the requirements of the proceedings is required; abstracts submitted for conference consideration will not be included in the proceeding.
- Abstracts should be less than 500 words and contain no references, tables or figures.
- Extended abstracts are approximately 3-5 pages in length (around 1000-1500 words) and may contain references, figures and tables.
- A full paper is no longer than 20 pages (5000 words) including references, figures, and tables.
Peer Review
All abstracts, extended abstracts, and papers must be peer reviewed by at least two people prior to submission and the manuscript must be revised based on reviewer comments. Senior authors must identify all reviewers and their contact information in their submission email and they must save the review comments until after the proceedings are published, and be able to document how they were addressed, in case there is an inquiry.
Copyrights and Permissions
If you are borrowing photos from a non-government cooperator or private source, you must obtain written permission. If you want to reprint figures that you borrow from copyrighted publications, obtain permission from the publisher first. Obtain written permission to publish photos of non-government people. Include documentation of all permissions with your manuscript.
